The thaw…

January 16th, 2010

Just when we think we are in with a chance of catching up we have just had a call from a customer who is usually very accurate with his weather predictions – he told us “a fast thaw brings some more”…….

Unbelievable !!!!

January 15th, 2010

Its not just customers who run out of oil – our new representative, Neil Parkinson, has just run out at home !! He  now joins the queue for his delivery !

better conditions

January 15th, 2010

We are pleased that the snow and ice is at last beginning to thaw and we will be able to catch up on deliveries. Jim has had a count up this morning and we have just less than 1000 orders on the desk still pending. During normal circumstances we would deliver between 200-250 per day so by the end of next week we would hope to be (almost !) up to date. We apologise for the delays and thank those customers who have taken the trouble to call and thank-us for getting through with their fuel. Fortunately, those not being so understanding were few and far between so on the whole we thank you for your patience

Deliveries

January 13th, 2010

Whilst we are making every effort to deliver your fuel, the current road conditions have made a number of deliveries more difficult than normal.  This is in addition to the huge volume of orders which has resulted in a delay in the usual turnaround.  If you have an urgent requirement please check with your normal depot who will do their best to accomodate you

PROGRESS

January 8th, 2010

We are happy to say that we are starting to catch up on the work we could not do earlier this week and for orders placed today we are optimistic that we can deliver (unless we have more snow !) by the end of next week.

problems

January 6th, 2010

We are experiencing many difficulties with snow bound routes today. We have just had a customer call who we tried to get to yesterday (off the beaten track) and could not. We could not comtemplate it today as the snow is much worse but they told us it would be very easy to do. We called our driver who said it would be almost impossible even with a sledge. Please remember that even if roads are ok for cars, it is a different matter altoghether for a fuel tanker. Once again, we thank you for your patience and ask you to bear with us – we will reach all of you as soon as we are able.

orders

January 6th, 2010

We have a new girl in our Stourport office, Theresa. She has just answered a telephone call from a customer who wanted to re-order Rhino Nasal Spray – being new to the industry she took the order without question (thinking this was another name for heating oil !)
After we had fallen about laughing we called the customer back and after ordering her oil from us she had hit re-dial instead of calling her doctor !!

snow (again !)

January 6th, 2010

All of the office staff and drivers have made it in but getting the tankers out again is proving to be a lot more complicated !
We are nevertheless battling on in an effort to make as many deliveries today as possible.
Prices are continuting to rise due mainly to the apparent improving economy in america and china which has boosted demand for crude oil.
